The Cooking Channel is making a mouth-watering visit to the East Bay this month.

In an upcoming episode of “Bizarre Foods: Delicious Destinations” (7 p.m. PT, Oct. 19) celebrity chef and culinary expert Andrew Zimmern drops in on Oakland and Berkeley to check out the region’s thriving multi-ethnic eateries where Chinese dim sum, Indian pani puri, American soul food and Mexican tacos are being served up in traditional style.

The restaurants on Zimmern’s list include Brown Sugar Kitchen, Camino, Mi Grullense, Peony Seafood Restaurant and Tin and Pig, all in Oakland, as well as Viks Chaat in Berkeley.
